This article shares just a few of the ways you can use your page to reach out to loved ones across the miles.

Ways to connect across the miles

  1. Add photos
Ask friends and family to add their favourite photos of your loved one, with comments and captions. Funny memories, milestones moments, and special occasions can all build a lovely picture of your loved one's life, to remember and celebrate them.
  1. Share memories and stories on your page
A key part of a MuchLoved tribute page is sharing memories, stories, anecdotes, reminiscences and fond thoughts about that special person you're missing so much. Add as many stories as you want, ask friends and family to comment, add their own stories, and fill the page. It's a lovely way to connect and remember that person, and doesn't matter where you are in the world, you can share those precious memories and keep them safe on your page.
  1. Add videos
In the same way, you can add photos, you can upload videos to your tribute page. Add key milestones, funny videos, Christmas memories, and share them with those that may not have seen them. Seeing and sharing those memories can be a real comfort, especially if they've been sitting on a single phone for a while. They're safe and secure on our site, and you can share them.

4. Light a candle
We offer a variety of virtual candles that you can light on tribute pages, from permanent, enduring candles, to those that will last a few hours or a day, or those that 'burn' for several months. Our seasonal candles only appear for special occasions, like Christmas or Remembrance Sunday, or others last for a year. Ask family and friends to light a candle for a loved one on a special occasions like their birthday or anniversary, or remember them on milestones like Mother's Day. It's a quick and easy thing to do and a lovely way to remember them.

  1. Send a virtual gift
Like candles, you can add a range of virtual gifts to a tribute page, beautiful images that can be added to a tribute page. Add seasonal gifts like Mother's or Father's Day flowers, greetings cards for birthdays, or choose from our wide range of gifts. Ask family and friends to get involved, or share that you've added a virtual gift, they might want to as well. Of course, these virtual gifts, candles, and everything else that can be added to a page are free, quick, and easy to do. It's a lovely way to involve family that's simple and beautiful.
If you're going away over the summer, you could even add one of our beautiful virtual postcards, remembering that person who would have been with you.
  1. Share your page
Every MuchLoved tribute page can be shared via social media, just click on the links at the bottom of the page, or paste the page link into your social platform. It's a great way to remind people to contribute to your page, and celebrate your loved one. You can share what you've updated, especially around milestone moments, and ask for more contributions like photos or stories.
  1. Organise a distant event - together
Why not create an event that everyone can take part in, like a walk, or cooking a special meal on a certain day, that everyone can participate in, regardless of their location. It doesn't have to be a fundraising event, it can be a purely memorial event to celebrate your loved one. Family and friends can then upload their photos to the tribute page afterwards and come together to remember your loved one.
  1. Fundraise together
You could choose to take on a fundraising event, like a skydive, or sponsored run. Family and friends could either sponsor you or could ask people to take part in their own challenge in their local area, and then upload their fundraising and photos to your tribute page.
  1. Donate to their favourite good cause or charity

A key way to remember a loved one, and do something positive in their memory is to donate to their favourite good cause in their honour. You can donate to any UK registered charity and many smaller good causes like sports clubs and associations through a MuchLoved page, so this is easy and quick to do, and can have a real impact for the future. You could ask family and friends for donations to remember your loved one, or even ask for donations in lieu of gifts for an upcoming celebration.

  1. Make a timeline request
A timeline feature is available on a MuchLoved tribute page to track those key moments in a loved one's life. You could ask family and friends to see if they can add photos and memories for key stages in your loved one’s life, so that their page will show the journey of their life.

However you choose to remember your loved one, a MuchLoved tribute page can help you remember them and celebrate their life, wherever you and your family are in the world. Your page is as unique as the person you’re remembering, and yours to keep for as long as you wish.

We hope it helps bring lots of comfort in remembering your loved ones.
